More than 190 U.S. enterprises will exhibit their products and services at the upcoming second China International Import Expo.

BEIJING, Oct. 30 (Xinhua) -- The exhibition area of enterprises from the United States covers 47,500 square meters, the largest among all the participating countries at the second China International Import Expo (CIIE).

A total of 192 U.S. enterprises will attend the second CIIE, increasing 18 percent from the previous year, said Assistant Minister of Commerce Ren Hongbin at a news briefing held in Beijing Tuesday.

During the first CIIE, deals for intended one-year purchases of goods and services worth a total of 57.83 billion U.S. dollars were reached and more than 90 percent of the contracts were completed in the past year, according to Ren.

While noting tangible benefits were brought to exhibitors, purchasers and consumers, Ren said the CIIE would produce greater spillover effect with positive participation and the support of all parties.

The second CIIE will run from Nov. 5 to 10 in Shanghai. ■
