MACAO, Oct. 10 (Xinhua) -- Macao's overall residential property price index from June to August this year decreased by 0.6 percent over the previous period (from May to July) to 267.8, the special administrative region's statistics service said here recently.

Information from the Statistics and Census Service indicated on Wednesday that the residential property price index for the Macao Peninsula dropped by 0.8 percent from June to August to 269.1 while that for Taipa and Coloane rose by 0.6 percent to 261.9.

The index for existing residential units (287.7) went down by 0.7 percent, with the indices for those in the Macao Peninsula (282.4) dropping by 0.9 percent and that for Taipa and Coloane (310.4) rising by 0.3 percent.

Meanwhile, the index for pre-sale residential units (282.0) increased by 0.4 percent from June to August over the previous period.

In comparison with the same period last year, the overall residential property price index and the index for existing residential units fell by 0.8 percent and 1.2 percent respectively, whereas the index for pre-sale residential units increased by 0.2 percent. Enditem
