OTTAWA, Aug. 25 (Xinhua) -- "We wish to participate (in) the second CIIE (China International Import Expo) because the momentum generated for us from the first one has benefited the image of our company FurCanada," said Calvin Kania, president and CEO of FurCanada and Kania Industries, Inc., based in British Columbia, Canada.

Kania told Xinhua that he would further showcase the brands of Canadian manufactured fur products with the Registered Trade Mark "FurCanada" at the second CIIE.

FurCanada is a world class Canadian fur manufacturing company since 1999. It produces premium quality fur blankets, pillows, floor coverings, garments, furniture and fur accessories.

Kania said his experience with the first CIIE was overwhelming. Its booth saw crowds of clients every day as FurCanada had items rarely seen in China, and it even had to step up security at its booth to handle the crowds.

Kania has been doing business with China since 1987. He wishes to keep that trend along with building new relations, after he signed contracts with many new clients at the first CIIE and currently is working on more.

Kania's first entry into China was Shanghai in June 1987 when the Pudong district in the city was just rice fields. He stayed at then Shanghai Mansions which was the only upscale hotel there at that time.

He recalled the busy traffic then in the city, mostly consisted of unending streams of bikes, in contrast to today's millions of automobiles on road across the city. "Wow! How times have changed."

"Its befitting that the biggest trade show event is being held in the same city I entered 32 years ago when I embarked on a journey of opening trade relations with some of the hardest working people I know on the planet," said Kania.

What China has done for its people with regards to the standards of living over the past 32 years, has overtaken what Canada has done over 150 years, Kania said.

Because of the grand exposure during the first CIIE which provided a chance for FurCanada to negotiate with two Chinese companies over a licencing and sole distribution agreement, Kania expected that the second CIIE will be bigger.

"We are open to further submissions from Chinese companies that wish to negotiate a sole agreement," Kania added.

The luxurious home decoration market in China is just debuting, Kelvin said, adding that FurCanada is positioning itself at the forefront of the international imported home decoration furniture.

"The CIIE show is the perfect venue for enhancing our brand," Kania said.

The second CIIE will be held in Shanghai on Nov. 5-10. Its scale will be bigger than before, with the planned exhibition area of 330,000 square meters, and is expected to attract more exhibitors.
