KHARTOUM, May 14 (Xinhua) -- Sudan's Foreign Ministry on Tuesday strongly condemned the drone attacks on two oil pipeline pumping stations in Saudi Arabia.

"Sudan has followed with great concern the news about the terrorist attack on two oil pumping stations in central Saudi Arabia on Tuesday morning," the ministry said in a statement.

"Sudan renews its strong condemnation and complete rejection to targeting the security, stability and resources of the sisterly Kingdom of Saudi Arabia," it noted.

The ministry further said such an attack represents attack against the entire Arab and Islamic nation, as well as a threat to the international peace and stability and safety of the oil supply which is the engine of the world economy.

It expressed full solidarity with Saudi Arabia together with its endless support to all measures adopted by Saudi Arabia to protect its national security and oil supplies.

It urged the international community to live up to its responsibility towards protecting the peace and stability in the Gulf area and the Arab region as a whole.

Saudi Energy Minister Khalid Al-Falih on Tuesday said that two oil pumping stations for the East-West pipeline had been hit by drone attacks.

He said the attacks caused a fire on the No. 8 station, leaving minor damage.

Yemen's Houthi rebels have claimed responsibility for the attacks, which were carried out to retaliate against the Saudi-led coalition's airstrikes on the Houthi positions in Yemen.
