BUDAPEST, May 12 (Xinhua) -- Russia scored a dominating victory with seven gold medals at FINA Champions Swim Series which concluded here on Sunday.

Multiple world record holder Sarah Sjoestroem of Sweden won five gold medals, and Hungarian veteran Katinka Hosszu took three golds and one silver.

On the second and last day of the Budapest leg, Russian swimmers added three gold medals. Yuliya Efimova, silver medalist from Rio 2016, ran away with the gold medal in 100m breaststroke, after she took two gold medals in women's 50m breaststroke and 200m breaststroke the day before. Evgeny Rylov, winner of men's 100m backstroke, won his second gold in 200m backstroke. Anton Chupkov won the third gold for Russia in 200m Breaststroke.

Swedish star swimmer Sarah Sjoestroem had a soaraway triumph on the second day as she won three gold medals in women's 50m freestyle, 200m freestyle and 50m butterfly, continuing her imperious form on Saturday when she won two gold medals in women's 100m freestyle and 100m butterfly on Saturday.

Hungarian swimmer Katinka Hosszu performed poorly on the first day, but she did herself justice on Sunday, winning three gold medals in 200m medley, 200m butterfly and 100m backstroke.

With no time to sleep off the jet lag, Chinese swimmers didn't perform as well as in the Guangzhou leg. On Saturday, Li Bingjie finished fourth in women's 200m freestyle on Saturday, and Xu Jiayu finished third in men's 200m backstroke. In previous games, Wang Jiahe finished runner-up in the women's 400m freestyle, while Li Bingjie ranked fourth. Xu Jiayu and Wang Shun ranked fourth in the men's 100m backstroke and men's 200m medley respectively.

The FINA Champions Swim Series will move to Indianapolis, the United States for the final leg scheduled for May 31-June 1.
