BERLIN, April 14 (Xinhua) -- Bayern Munich moved atop the standings after Kingsley Coman scored twice to ease 4-1 past newly promoted Fortuna Dusseldorf at the close of the 29th round in Bundesliga on Sunday.

The German record champions assumed control form the kick off and needed only five minutes to produce the first clear cut opportunity through Kingsley Coman, who rattled the woodwork from close range.

Dusseldorf kept all their men behind the ball and defended deep still it took the visitors only 15 minutes to break the deadlock as Serge Gnabry's cross to the far post allowed Coman to mark the opener.

The hosts came to their first chance at the half hour mark when Mats Hummels conceded a turnover without consequences, as Dawid Kownacki pulled wide from promising position.

Even though Bayern retracted they were able to double their advantage before the break as Coman sealed his brace after capitalizing on Joshua Kimmich's square pass into the box with 41 minutes played.

After the restart, Bayern started where they left off and added another goal to their lead as Thiago Alcantara's flicked on corner kick found Serge Gnabry, who poked home at the far post ten minutes into the second half.

The third goal put the result beyond doubt although Dusseldorf were able to reduce the arrears after converting a handball through Dodi Lukebakio in the 89th minute.

The "Bavarians" remained unimpressed and restored their three-goal lead three minutes later as Leon Goretzka benefitted on a rebound at the edge of the box in the dying seconds of the game.

"We did not stand a chance. Bayern played very concentrated so there was no coming back for us," Dusseldorf head coach Friedhelm Funkel said.

"We played this game in a very serious manner. We did not allow too much and grabbed a deserved win," Bayern head coach Niko Kovac said.

With the second win in row, Bayern Munich oust Borussia Dortmund from the top spot in the standings meanwhile Fortuna Dusseldorf two-game winning streak came to end to remain on the 10th place.
