BEIJING, Dec. 10 (Xinhua) -- A congratulatory letter on the 60th anniversary of the establishment of south China's Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region was jointly issued by the Communist Party of China (CPC) Central Committee, the Standing Committee of the National People's Congress, the State Council, the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and the Central Military Commission on Monday.

The letter spoke highly of the changes and achievements made by the region over the last 60 years, praising the region's adherence to the principle of putting national interests first and its contributions to safeguarding the territorial integrity and prosperity of the country.

"Practice has proved that only by upholding the leadership of the CPC and socialism with Chinese characteristics, comprehensively deepening reform and opening-up, sticking to the system of regional ethnic autonomy and creating a strong sense of community for the Chinese nation, can development and progress be made in Guangxi, and the kinship of the Chinese people as a nation be strengthened and Chinese Dream realized," it read.

The letter expressed the hope that Guangxi can take new steps in facilitating high-quality economic development and improving the livelihood of the people, make new progress in ecological and environmental protection, and break new ground in opening-up and the construction of the Belt and Road Initiative, in order to enter a moderately prosperous society together with the rest of the country.
