JOHANNESBURG, Dec. 3 (Xinhua) -- South Africa's ruling party African National Congress (ANC) will host a three-day BRICS political parties plus dialogue starting Tuesday, the party's chairperson of International Relations subcommittee Lindiwe Zulu said on Monday at a media briefing in Johannesburg.

Zulu said the meeting will be attended by more than 200 delegates from the political parties of the BRICS, which groups Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, and other fraternal parties from Africa.

"The objective of the dialogue is to come up with a possible common approach to deal with economic and political challenges to strengthen multilateralism and fourth industrial revolution. It is envisaged that the dialogue will reach an agreement encapsulated in the Johannesburg Declaration," Zulu said.

Zulu said they will discuss threats to the BRICS members and seek solutions against rising nationalism, isolationism, and reiterate South Africa's call to embrace multilateralism.

The political parties will affirm their support for the rules based on multilateral trading system as embodied in the World Trade Organization to ensure global trade flows, transparency, non-discriminatory practice, and open and inclusive international trade, she said.

Zulu emphasized that they will learn from each other's best practices in governance issues. "The ANC as South Africa's governing party hopes that the engagement will lead to ground breaking measures which will translate into tangible programs to tackle poverty and economy challenges through the African continent."
