BEIRUT, Nov. 9 (Xinhua) -- Lebanese President Michel Aoun said on Friday that Lebanon is committed to preserving security along its borders according to the UN resolution amid regular violations by Israel.

"We are keen on implementing (UN Security Council) Resolution 1701 when Israel violates Lebanon's airspace, land and sea on a regular basis," the Presidency's website cited Aoun as saying during his meeting with UN Special Coordinator for Lebanon Bernell Cardel.

He reaffirmed that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's claims that Lebanon's Hezbollah stockpiles missiles near Beirut's Rafic Hariri International Airport are false.

Caretaker Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil had led a tour of ambassadors and journalists to two of the three locations to disprove these claims, he added.

The the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon has also denied the presence of missiles in there sites, the Lebanese president stressed.

For her part, Cardel said she will travel back to New York to submit a report about necessary steps for the implementation of Resolution 1701.

The UN Resolution 1701 called for an end to hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah forces, the deployment of the Lebanese army along the Israeli border, and the establishment of a weapons-free zone south of the Litani River in southern Lebanon.
