BERLIN, Oct. 20 (Xinhua) -- Leaders Borussia Dortmund reaped their fourth straight win after overpowering struggling Stuttgart 4-0 meanwhile Bayern Munich returned to winning ways after beating Wolfsburg 3-1 at the 8th round in Bundesliga on Saturday.

Stuttgart caught the worst possible start at the debut of their new head coach Markus Weinzierl as Dortmund's Jadon Sancho opened the scoring with a deflected shot from the edge of the box with just three minutes played.

The hosts regrouped and came to two chances through Christian Gentner. However, the "BVB" completed a counter attack as Marco Reus benefitted on Lukasz Piszczek's square pass to double the lead in the 23rd minute.

Things went from bad to worse for struggling "Swabians" as Benjamin Pavard's misplaced free kick allowed Paco Alcacer to score his 7th goal of the season only two minutes later.

After the restart, Stuttgart increased the pressure while Dortmund lurked for fast breaks. The host's effort almost paid off but Gentner rattled only the crossbar before Dortmund's goalkeeper Roman Buerki had to deny Santiago Ascacibar from close range.

The "BVB" proved their clinical chance conversion in front of the goal in the closing period as substitute Maximilian Philipp unleashed a low shot into the far post corner to round off the 4-0 victory on the road.

With the win, Dortmund continue atop the Bundesliga standings with a four-point advantage whereas Stuttgart sit on the 17th place.

Bayern Munich ended their four-game winless streak in all competitions, as a brace from Robert Lewandowski were enough to edge Wolfsburg 3-1.

Both sides staged a lively opening period with chances at both ends of the pitch. Still, it were the German record champions, who broke the deadlock with 30 minutes into the game when Robert Lewandowski utilized Mats Hummels' through ball to mark the opener from inside the box.

The "Bavarians" assumed possession of the ball and controlled the proceedings yet Nico Kovac's men failed to make the most of their opportunities in the first half.

Bayern caught a bright start into the second half as Robert Lewandowski sealed his brace after intercepting a return pass inside the goal area to poke home into the empty goal in the 49th minute.

Arjen Robben put the win in danger at the hour mark after booking his second yellow card and receiving his marching orders.

The "Wolves" immediately capitalized on their numerical advantage as Wout Weghorst slid home Admir Mehmedi's delivery into the box to reduce the arrears.

Ten-men Bayern remained unimpressed and restored their two-goal lead in the 72nd minute when Lewandowski's assist allowed James Rodriguez to put the result beyond doubt.

With the result, Bayern jump from the 6th to the 2nd spot while Wolfsburg slump from the 9th to the 11th position.

Elsewhere, Karim Bellarbi's late equaliser helped Bayer Leverkusen to snatch a two all draw from Hannover.

Hoffenheim came from behind to secure a 3-1 victory over newly promoted Nuremberg and Augsburg shared the spoils with Leipzig following a goalless draw.
