BEIJING, Oct. 17 (Xinhua) -- Chinese tech giant Tencent will hold its eighth global partner conference in the eastern Chinese city of Nanjing in November, the company's first large-scale event after it announced a landmark strategic organizational upgrade last month.

The three-day long event, lasting from November 1 to 3, will mainly discuss openness and inter-growth, featuring 20 summit topics ranging from smart transport to artificial intelligence (AI), according to a statement from Tencent.

The tech conglomerate's product lines including WeChat and Tencent Cloud will share their latest strategies and business developments with global partners to mark the 20th anniversary of the establishment of Tencent, one of the world's most valued internet firms.

Over 100 projects from Tencent and its partners will be displayed in an exhibition area of about 20,000 square meters, showcasing the latest developments in technologies, cultural and innovative products and different sectors.

Initiated in 2011, the annual Tencent Global Partner Conference centers on building an open ecosystem with Tencent's partners in different fields worldwide by leveraging its Open Platform, which is focused on helping startups create, distribute and expand through their content for the cultural and creative industries.

The total number of partners on the Open Platform exceeded 13 million by October 2017, creating over 23 billion yuan (3.33 billion U.S. dollars) in partner revenue and 25 million jobs.

The 20-year-old Shenzhen-based tech juggernaut announced its first structural shakeup within six years in late September. The company will integrate its original seven business groups into six, with two new business groups on cloud and smart industries, as well as platform and content, to be formed respectively.

Tencent Chairman and CEO Pony Ma said in a statement that the changes mark "a new beginning" that will prepare Tencent for the next 20 years of operations.
