JAKARTA, Sept. 20 (Xinhua) -- New Zealand's Matthew Zenovich and Ben Dyball of Australia took the spoils in the first two stages of the 2018 Tour de Siak, currently being held in Indonesia's Riau province.

Both cyclists are from Australia's St. George Continental team, with senior committee member Sondi Sampurno praising that stable's personnel.

"The St. George team have dominated the opening stages of the event. They have tough riders," he said in Siak district on Thursday.

Zenovich took the 154 km first stage in 3 hours, 18 minutes and 29 seconds, with teammate Marcus Culey finishing just two seconds behind, and Ryan Cavanagh ensuring a one-two-three finish for St. George in the first stage.

In the 115 km second stage, Dyball was victorious in a time of 2 hours, 30 minutes and 7 seconds, with Malaysian riders Mohd Hariff Salleh and Mohammad Izzat Hilmi finishing second and third.

The third stage of the tour will be a 161 km route through Dayun and Buatan, while the fourth stage passes through Siak City for 92 km.
