CHICAGO, May 9 (Xinhua) -- Michigan-China Week really acts as useful platform for Chinese companies to seek investment opportunities in Midwest U.S, a Chinese businesswoman told Xinhua on Wednesday in an interview during the three-day event.

Sophie Ou, CEO of Meganutra Inc's U.S. branch, said that by participating the event, she would find ideal partners to produce liquid health care product and learn more about laws and taxation rules in Michigan state. Meganutra Inc is a Chinese private owned importer of health products and service provider.

When asked why she decided to attend the event, Ou said Michigan State University is the top one in public health field, and they are forerunner in clinical medicine and nutriology research. "So I think maybe we can cooperate to make better formula and health care products for Chinese market."

Ou, also a member of the China General Chamber of Commerce-USA (CGCC), said her CGCC delegation has 29 CEOs joining the event. "We have seven people in a roundtable meeting with state Governor Snyder who said Michigan welcomes Chinese investment with open arms." She said.

As a keynote speaker in Michigan-China Business Summit, President of CGCC Chicago and General Manager Liang Pubin said U.S. Midwest States, including Michigan are business friendly regions with rich resources, expressing the hope that Chinese business executives could find ideal investment projects.

Ou also highly praised the organizer Michigan-China Innovation Center for its perfect arrangement.

The Michigan-China Innovation Center, created in 2016, said that Michigan is home to more than 300 Chinese companies, which represent more than 4 billion U.S. dollars' investment and more than 6,000 jobs.

In recent year, Michigan government had led several missions to China to promote Michigan exports and tourism as well as to attract investments.
