KABUL, Feb. 21 (Xinhua) -- Over 76,400 Afghan refugees have returned or been deported from neighboring Pakistan and Iran since the beginning this year, the UN Migration Agency (IOM) reported Wednesday.

"The total number of undocumented Afghan returnees since 1 January 2018 from Pakistan is now 3,032. In the same time period, 73,390 individuals returned or were deported from Iran," said IOM in a statement.

According to the agency's official figures, within the past one week, from Feb. 11 to Feb. 17, some 299 undocumented Afghans returned from Pakistan, and 11,236 returned from Iran.

The IOM has provided post-arrival assistance to 90 percent of returnees from Pakistan and 4 percent from Iran within the period.

The organization has also provided assistance to returnees in categories which included "78 Special Cases, 49 Medical Cases and two Single Females" over the past week.
