NEW YORK, Sept. 9 (Xinhua) -- Three Chinese brands dominated the runway of the ongoing New York Fashion Week (NYFW) on Sunday as the China Day event returned to the fashion extravaganza with the theme of "70/40."

Presenting their latest collections, all three brands made their debut at the NYFW, one of the "big four" major fashion weeks in the world during the event.

As the subsidiary brand of ANTA Group, the children sportswear Anta Kids showcased the "Playmaker" collection in a studio by the Hudson River on Sunday afternoon, featuring futuristic styles, functional materials and vibrant colors resembling those of the Olympic rings.

The women's business attire brand LILY and independent womenswear XUZHI both rocked the Spring Studio in Lower Manhattan on Sunday night. LILY used sharp silhouettes and diverse materials to interpret its concept of powerful women; while XU ZHI featured fresh colors and delicate fabric to illustrate the poetic youth life.

The China Day, first established in February 2018, has been co-hosted by the American Fashion Designers Association in conjunction with Suntchi, a leading fashion and entertainment company in China, for four times in the semiannual NYFW.

It aims to showcase the works of outstanding Chinese designers and brands, helping them shine in NYFW shows and enter the U.S. market.

The 4th China Day pays a tribute to the 70th anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the over four decades of China's Reform and Opening up, during which China's fashion industry has grown rapidly, the event's organizers said in a press release.

Chen Chuan, general manager of the Shanghai Silk (Group) Brand development Co. Ltd that owns LILY, said the brand's new collection gained a unique insight into the multiple dimensions of modern Chinese women and showcased their infinite possibilities.

Chen Xuzhi, who created the label XU ZHI in 2015 after graduating from the Central Saint Martins in London, said that he looks forward to seeing more Chinese designers to present themselves on China Day.

The influence of Chinese fashion has been fast expanding and reaching larger crowds of audience around the world, as home-grown designers, people's spending power and fashion aesthetics keep growing, he added.

The NYFW kicked off on Wednesday, presenting the works of dozens designers which will set new trends for 2020 spring and summer.
