KAMPALA, May 21 (Xinhua) -- Namibia kept its winning record as the 2019 International Cricket Council (ICC) men's Twenty20 World Cup Africa final qualifiers entered Day 2 here on Tuesday.

The Namibian team started with a win over Ghana on Monday and followed it up with another victory against hosts Uganda.

Namibia elected to bat to put on 167/7 in 20 overs, while Uganda chased and collapsed at 125/8. Led by team captain Stephen Baard, Namibia showed good fielding.

Karl Birkenstock proved the star player with the bat for Namibia hitting a game high 59 runs, while Christi Viljoen picked 33 runs and Jan Frylinck 19 runs.

Uganda had a dismal day with Zephania Arinaitwe and Ham Kayondo both picking 15 runs each, while Riazat Ali Shah scored 19 runs.

"We did not play well today. We need to wake-up in the next games against Ghana, Nigeria and Kenya," Uganda's Kayondo told Xinhua after the game.

Later on Tuesday Kenya will face Ghana, while Nigeria take on Botswana.

Namibia lead the table standings with 4 points, while Kenya and Uganda have 2 points each after their wins on Day 1.

The top two teams will qualify for the global qualifier slated for Oct. 11- Nov. 3 in the United Arab Emirates.

The ICC Twenty20 World Cup will be held in Australia in October next year.
