MADRID, Sept. 23 (Xinhua) -- The Spanish capital of Madrid celebrates the World Football Summit on Monday and Tuesday of the coming week, giving industry professionals the chance to debate over the key issues of the game.

All in all, 2,300 industry professionals representing 160 clubs from 95 different countries and regions will be present in Madrid to look at issues of management, investment, intelligent stadiums, fan engagement and recent developments in broadcast technology.

It is the third time the event has been held in Spain and 2018 sees the participation of Andrea Agnelli, the President of Serie A champions Juventus, Mariano Elizondo, the President of the Argentinean super league and Carmelo Ezpeleta, the CEO of Doma, the company that organizes MotoGP.

Other famous faces appearing at the World Football Summit are Belgian national team coach Roberto Martinez, former Portuguese international goalkeeper Victor Baia and Ronaldo Nazario, the former Brazil international striker, who recently purchased Spanish La Liga side, Real Valladolid.

The women's game will also be in focus as the event counts on the participation of Khalida Popal, the former captain of the Afghanistan women's side, while this summer's World Cup in Russia will also be under analysis.

The congress will also see a study looking at what the game will be like, especially bearing in mind the development of Asia, both as a market for the game and as a region that is working hard to develop domestic players with the aim of becoming world football powerhouse.
