HOUSTON, March 8 (Xinhua) -- A senior leader of the State Grid Corporation of China (SGCC) on Thursday called for international collaboration in global energy transition.

Min Wang, SGCC's executive vice president, said at CERAWeek by IHS Markit here in Houston that the international cooperation should focus on energy infrastructure, technological innovation and international standards, aiming at promoting renewables in energy mix, strengthening capability of electrical storage, and improving efficiency and reliability of electrical distribution across regions and countries.

In his speech delivered to the forum titled "Global Power Dialogue" at CERAWeek, Wang said the on-going global energy transition features development of renewables and clean energy, which requires higher reliability of electrical distribution network.

Wang told Xinhua that SGCC has reaffirmed its call for international cooperation and is committed to better life for people across China as well as around the world.

As a super-large state-owned enterprise, SGCC is responsible for constructing and operating power grids with a mission to provide safer, cleaner, and more economical and sustainable power supply, which is crucial to China's energy security and economic lifeline.

CERAWeek, which kicked off on Monday in Houston, is an annual energy meeting featuring prominent speakers from energy, technology and financial sectors. This year's meeting attracts more than 3,000 guests from over 50 countries and regions.
