RABAT, Feb. 8 (Xinhua) -- The Moroccan daily Le Matin highlighted on Thursday the steady development of the bilateral ties between Morocco and China.

In a special on the 60th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Rabat and Beijing, the largest-circulated French-language daily in Morocco shed light on the landmark events and areas of cooperation between the two countries during the last 60 years.

The daily highlighted the health sector figures among the top priorities of bilateral ties, noting that some 1,700 Chinese medical volunteers have worked in various Moroccan regions since 1975.

It hailed the growing cooperation in the area of language and cultural exchange. It stated that Morocco is the first Arab country to host three Confucius institutes.

The daily mentioned also Morocco's decision to exempt Chinese nationals form visa requirement to enter the Moroccan territory since June 2016.

At the economic level, the special referred to the milestone project of Africa's largest cable-stayed bridge, which was built by China Railway Major Bridge Engineering Group in 2016.

The daily ended its special with the signing in November of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on joint construction of the Belt and Road Initiative during a meeting between Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi and Moroccan Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Nasser Bourita.
